Manitoba Exploratory Visits Stream

The Manitoba Exploratory Visits Stream of is a priority assessment stream for potential applicants who choose to strengthen their knowledge of Manitoba, as well as their connection to our province, by making an exploratory visit to investigate employment, education and lifestyle opportunities.
The MPNP is not currently accepting Exploratory Visit requests.

Eligibility Criteria

Exploratory visit to Manitoba

An Exploratory Visit to Manitoba that has been pre-approved by the Manitoba government.
During your exploratory visit the applicants are expected to do the following:
  • explore opportunities in their field of work and meet with prospective employers
  • consult with employers and regulatory bodies (if necessary) about their potential employability in Manitoba
  • explore the housing, educational and lifestyle opportunities in the community in which they would like to live, including available employment and settlement services
  • Age eligibility

    Age between 21 and 45 years old

    Minimum education

    At least a one-year, post-secondary diploma, certificate or degree

    Minimum experience

    At least two years of full-time work experience in the past five years and demonstrating ability to find a job in Manitoba in the same occupation.
    Note: Foreign nationals who have previously studied in another province or territory of Canada will not be eligible to apply to the MPNP unless they can provide evidence of:
  • at least one year of ongoing work experience with a Manitoba employer
  • valid work permit issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
  • an offer of a permanent full-time job from a Manitoba employer
  • Minimum Settlement Funds

    Successful applicants must show that they have sufficient settlement funds to support themselves and their dependants after arrival in Canada. They must prove possession of transferrable funds of at least $10,000 CAD, plus $2,000 CAD for each accompanying dependant.

    Legal Status

    Refugees (current or refused claimants) living in Canada are not eligible for the MPNP.

    Medical and Security admisibility

    Applicants and their dependants must also undergo medical examinations and security clearances as part of the Canadian immigration application process.
